I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life, and have pretty much have always known I wanted to be a Zag, so here we are. My love for computer science first began back in high school when I took my first one-semester CS class called "Intro to Game Development". My first ever project was actually a tank shooter game that I worked on with some friends. I instantly became captivated by the world of CS, falling in love with the idea of creating applications for others to use. My my ultimate dream is to combine my passion for technology with my love for sports. I aspire to work with a professional sports team, leveraging my skills in computer science to contribute to their success.

Software Developer Intern

During my internship at Groq as a Software Application Developer, I built a monitoring website to manage PDUs across three data centers, equating to roughly 170 racks. Users could control outlets and nodes via bash scripts that accessed PDUs using SNMP commands and DNS. The site also tracked power consumption with detailed graphs by PDU, rack, cage, and data center, and allowed easy addition of new racks via an automated Bash script.

The system was containerized with Docker, running the main site, PostgreSQL client, and database in separate containers. The backend stored power consumption history and user credentials with hashed passwords in PostgreSQL. I integrated a webhook API to notify a Slack channel whenever a user turned a node on or off.

Datacenter Technician

During my time at Groq as a datacenter technician, I was responsible for setting up datacenter equipment, specifically, installing racks of hardware. This involved deploying nine GroqNode Servers in each rack using a rotational topology. Additionally, I configured two switches for each rack, implementing IP routing and default gateways.

I also took the initiative to enhance operational efficiency by developing Bash scripts. One script automated the measurement of maximum power consumption for 90 servers spread across our racks, while another allowed for the simultaneous control of 40 PDUs, streamlining power management processes.

GU ACM President

Last semester, I coordinated a multi-school Hackathon at Gonzaga University with local sponsors from the industry. This included managing fundraising and hosting team meetings to plan for the event.

In addition, our club does weekly meetings to get more people experience in the world of CS. At these meetups, we dive into coding projects and have a blast learning new tools, like making use of our school's server, playing around with GitHub Pages, and creating some cool portfolio site projects.
